Biography

Dr. Katherine Hyatt completed her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Georgia in Business Management. While working full-time, she completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nova Southeastern University with a specialization in Finance. Also, while working full-time, she completed a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program in Management at Nova Southeastern University. Her dissertation was on Leadership and Employee Perceived Organizational Support. She completed a graduate certificate in Executive and Professional Coaching through the University of Texas at Dallas. She holds an Associate Coach Certification (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation. She also owns a coaching and consulting business. She is a member of the Academy of Management and International Coaching Federation.

She has spent 25+ years in business and education. She worked in the banking industry in progressively higher positions and left banking as a Financial Accounting Officer to pursue a career in education at the collegiate level. She has served as a part-time adjunct and full-time instructor in different business programs. She served as an assistant, associate, and full professor of business. She has taught both on campus and online in different programs from undergraduate to the master’s and Doctoral Levels throughout her career. She has also served as dean of two different business schools in private, faith-based universities. She has served as a Director of Student Services for a technical College. She currently serves as the Director of the Mountain Campus of Dalton State College and a lecturer in business primarily in finance and management.

She is currently serving as a Gilmer Chamber Board Member, Gilmer High College and Career Academy Board member,  and as president-elect of the Kiwanis Club of Gilmer County. On a personal note, she is a Gilmer County native. She resides with her husband and dog.  She enjoys exercise, baking, quilting, and reading. She has a passion for all things business.
